Women the source of Creation and treasury of eternal love occupying of half portion of total population in Nepal have been facing so many problems. Their helplessness and aimlessness have become mysterious to other but a serious & shocking reality to Mahila Jagaran Sangh (MJS), Ilam. Realizing the unaccountable facts of women's problems, Mahila Jagaran Sangh was organized in July 1991 as soon after the reinstatement of parliamentary democracy which guaranteed the civil and political rights of the citizen of Nepal. MJS by then has been active with a vision to build creative, peaceful and prosperous society and encouraging women to participate in various creative activities of development intervention. MJS as a non-profit, apolitical and proactive developmental non-governmental organization has been creating its apparent successful story for 18 years and bring positive changes in socio-economic development and gender friendly issues. Unsolved needy problems of women victimize the whole family as where it brings boon with happiness within family if it is carefully responded. By realizing these facts, among amalgamation of infinite prominent problems related with women MJS has identified the following priority sectors to achieve its goals; cooperatives, domestic violence, income generating schemes, gender friendly issues.
MJS is desirous of accelerating the women's movement by creating massive events of employment opportunity and construction an exemplary movement of success in this region.

GOAL: Improvement of the community through promotion of micro-enterprises, minimizing domestic violence, creating sustainable environment and enhancing access of women in decision making of the society.
OBJECTIVES

Annihilation of domestic violence;

Promote micro enterprises by mobilizing resources of cooperatives and micro finance system;

Promote social welfare, protection of elderly people, gender victim and unprivileged sector of society;

Manage the resources for sustainable development to enhance livelihood and poverty alleviation;

Capacity building of women and concerned institutions;
Norms and Belief: MJS is guided by its vision, mission, goal and objectives in all its deeds; however the following norms and belief have been adopting since its establishment:

- Rules of law and Good Governance,
- Belief on action and respect of human/women right;
- Social inclusion, empowerment of women and sustainable development
WORKING AREA: FOCUS: Ilam, Panchthar and Taplejung District with priority to work all over Nepal.
